Tomas In London

The Fat Controller Had Given Tomas The Tank Engine A Very Special Job. He Was To Run A Non-Stop Express Service From Bognor Regis To London Victoria Because Gordon Was Ill And James was At The Steamworks. He Stet Off From Bognor With All His Passengers. "Peep! Peep!" Said Tomas, "Here We Go!" He Steamed Through Amberly To Arundel, Croydon To Clapham, He Even Saw Harold And Jerald At Gatwick Airport, And Finally, He Arrived. "Peep! Peep! Thank You For Using The Sodor Express!" He And All Other Trains And Passengers Started Laughing!

Model Rail Monthly Takes A Look At...
We Look At A Very Old Train Set

We Acquired A Very Old Hornby Train Set At The Bognor Regis Model Train Club's Annual Model Train Show Earlier This Year. Inside It Has A British Rail Blue Liveried Class 29 With 3 British Rail Blue Coaches We Couldn't Identify What Type They Were. Also Inside This Splendid Hornby 00 Gauge Train Set Was A Very Old Hornby Controller Which I Did Not Try Out, The Whole Idea Is A Bit Scary We Have Already had One Accident This Year With One Of Our Computers Nearly Catching Fire! The Set Also Had Some Track In It But Some Was Missing So the kind Lady And Gentleman Who Ran The Stall Threw In A Hornby Track Pack. It Costs Us Around £50 Which Is Good Value Because The Loco Alone Can Fetch Up To £45! Now The Train Makes A Weird Sound When You Run It But That's Just Age And We Need To Use Our Oil Pen On It. The Coaches Are In Good Condition The Fragile Detailing On The Windows Is Broken On One Of The Windows Of The Coaches. There Is Another Con To Running The Loco Even If You Have A Set Of Points Closed The Train Will Still Move. Other Than That I Think That This Is A Rather Charming Little Train Set. We Haven't Dated The Train Set Currently We Will Update You When We Have.
